Travel tips:
Please make sure that your car is in good condition. It is easy to get distracted by people and phones.  Unfortunately, Summer is also road construction season.  Allow time for delays.

Here is a list of popular destinations to visit:

This popular destination is about 5 hours from metro Detroit. You have to take a ferry from Mackinac City.  The island has no motorized vehicles.  Only horse drawn carriages and cycles.  It is an amazing tourist spot.  You can also explore the island's natural beauty by hiking or biking around the island. Enjoy the fudge!

This park is located in the Upper Peninsula and features one of Michigan's largest waterfalls, the Tahquamenon Falls.

May is Tulip time at Holland.  Thousands of our community members drive there every year. You can see  Windmill Island Gardens and beautiful Lake Michigan beaches nearby.  Be cautious around the water.

This is a unique place.  You will not see such large sand dunes around in other states.  You can rent dune buggies and jeeps to drive fast on the dunes.  But be cautious.  Accident do happen.  It is about 3 hours from metro Detroit.

Located about 4 hours from metro Detroit, Traverse City is a beautiful place to visit. It is best to allow enough time to Sleeping Bear Dunes nearby.  It is one of the most beautiful places in America. The park is known for the huge scalable dunes of the Dune Climb. It is hard to walk in the sand for miles.  Take bottles of water and make sure that it is not too sunny and hot. Allow yourself enough time to walk all the way to the water and back.

Henry Ford museum is an indoor complex that  showcases the history of American innovation and includes exhibits on transportation, communication, and agriculture. The Greenfield Village is outdoors with a train ride and numerous activities for kids.  A great family destination.

Ann Arbor is a vibrant college town and home to the University of Michigan. You can explore the university's campus and check out its museums and libraries. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars to check out in the downtown area.

This park is located on the Lake Superior shoreline and features stunning cliffs, waterfalls, and colorful sandstone formations. You can take a boat tour to see the cliffs from the water, or hike along the park's trails.

Grand Rapids is known for its art scene, breweries, and outdoor activities, including the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park and the John Ball Zoo.

Frankenmuth is a small town in Michigan that is known for its Bavarian-style architecture and Christmas shops. You can explore the town's shops and restaurants, or visit the nearby Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, which is the world's largest Christmas store.  The other attraction is Birchrun Outlet mall.  It is the largest in Midwest.  It is only 2 hours from metro Detroit.

Located in the city of Detroit, it is an amazing art museum.  There is a large Asian collection with several artifacts from India. Admission is free for residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.  It is a must visit place.
