Michigan Indian Community to celebrate International Women's Day

Miindia.com and Detroit Indian Women's Association (DIWA) are collaborating to bring an experimental new-age visual program to the community. This online event aptly labeled Soul Tough (Embrace the Power Within) will be held on March 7th. International Women's Day is an annual celebration of women empowerment stories that showcases women in all dimensions. The Michigan Indian community distinctly stands out as one of the most active ethnic groups in the state celebrating this event annually. 

Miindia.com and DIWA annually raise funds during this season to provide support and awareness to women in abusive and violent situations. In its partnership with one of the oldest organizations in the community - Mai Family Services (founded in 1983) as our beneficiary, the team has pledged to come together to engage, inform, and provide monetary relief for 10 families (women and children).

The fundraising goal is $5000

Around the world, as communities have gone into lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus, the mass efforts to save lives have put women in abusive relationships more at risk. Mai Family Services needs your help.

There are some cool auction items to be purchased as well. All proceeds go toward the welfare of women in crisis within our community. Every contribution counts.
