ISKCON DETROIT is cordially inviting everyone to join on August 15th at Novi Civic Center where 36th annual FESTIVAL OF CHARIOTS will be held. Event will be attended by thousands of people coming to Michigan from all over the USA and other countries. You can expect to hear musical artists like Grammy-nominated Gaura Mani and others from New York, India and around the world.
“This is our 36th year in Michigan since the beginning of it in 1985 to celebrate Rath Yatra. Last year due to COVID , we had a drive through festival. This year we are returning back to full festival. More than 200 volunteers are working to make this festival a success. We are anticipating thousands of people to join us in celebrating this festival”, said Naimish Patel, The festival director.
The Festival of Chariots, one of India's most ancient and popular festivals, is celebrated today in hundreds of cities worldwide. The festival will begin with a three-mile parade through the principal streets of Novi, featuring a 40-foot tall hand-pulled chariot and live music. The parade will culminate at Fuerst Park, where over 20 tents are set up with various forms of entertainment includes yoga, live music, Drama, cooking demos, shopping, Kid's activities, and much more. The Kirtan Yoga Fest from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. will feature international artists. The festival wraps up around 5:00 pm.
